Provide locum physician coverage in the St.
John Hospital Emergency Department.
Work ER shifts including 24-hour shifts and 12-hour shifts with flexibility for 6-hour blocks during weekdays.
Assess and manage approximately 25 patients per 24-hour shift (including night shift patients).
Collaborate with on-site diagnostic and support services (X-ray, lab, ultrasound during the day).
Coordinate with local GP anesthesia and GP surgery support
Northern Health is seeking locum physicians to work in the St. John Hospital Emergency Department in Vanderhoof, British Columbia. ER shifts can be 24 hours (0800-0800), or 12 hours (0800-2000, 2000-0800) with flexibility for 6 - hour blocks during weekdays. You can expect to see 25 patients in a 24-hour shift, 5 of those would be during night shift. New APP rates, effective August 1, 2025:
CCFP rate: $4,032- $4,122 /weekday day 8 am to 8 pm, $4,334 -$4,425/weekend day 8 am to 8 pm, $4,443/weekday night 8 pm to 8am, $4,443 - $4,534/weekend night 8 pm to 8am, $8,475/ weekday 8am – 8am, $8,778 - $8,963 weekend 8am – 8am
CCFP-EM rate: $4,440 - $4,531 /weekday day 8 am to 8 pm, $4,743 -$4,833/weekend day 8 am to 8 pm, $4,852/weekday night 8 pm to 8am, $4,852 - $4,942/weekend night 8 pm to 8am, $9,291/ weekday 8am – 8am, $9,594 - $9,779 weekend 8am – 8am Site has X-ray, lab, ultrasound during the day, and support with local GP anesthesia and GP surgery. The referral site is in Prince George, 1 hour away. Visiting specialists to the hospital include general internist, orthopedics, ENT, plastics, geriatrics, psychiatry, pediatrics, and physiatry.
