Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital of West Toronto is hiring a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician, Emergency to join our growing emergency team in Mississauga, Ontario. This is an opportunity for a Veterinary Technician to build advanced ER and Critical Care skills while working alongside a highly skilled, collaborative team in a 24/7 emergency and referral hospital.

This is a hands-on Emergency Veterinary Technician role where your skills will be used every day in meaningful ways. You’ll work closely with DVMs and fellow RVTs to provide exceptional patient care for urgent and critical cases. Triage and emergency patient assessment Venipuncture and IV catheter placement Monitoring hospitalized patients and delivering nursing care Patient vitals and ongoing treatment monitoring Anesthesia support, surgical prep, and recovery Diagnostic imaging including radiographs ECG monitoring Laboratory sample collection and processing Client communication and education Assisting with emergency procedures and treatments Advanced technical skills may include: Central line placement assistance Urinary catheter placement NG tubes and nasal cannulas Chest tubes Feeding tubes Blood transfusions Advanced CPR (RECOVER training provided) This is the kind of ER where you’ll continue building your skills—not just repeat the same routine every shift.
