Position Summary

Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Licenced Practical Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team. In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Primary Care Team Lead or designate, the Primary Care Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). The Primary Care LPN functions as a member of the interprofessional team and applies best practice to provide competent, safe, and ethical care for clients in settings such as physician practices, homes, schools, and communities. Provides care according to the primary care plan developed with the interprofessional team and the client’s personal goals of care. Performs assessments, plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to clients. Please attach cover letter and resume Primary Care Networks are partnerships between the Divisions of Family Practice representing BC’s family physicians, the regional health authorities, the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) and local community partners, along with other community providers such as nurse practitioners. All partners are working together in their local communities and collectively to redesign B.C.’s primary and community care system so that it works better for patients and health-care providers. Qualfications

Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nursing and registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing Licensed Practical Nurse, one (1) year recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current valid BC Driver’s License Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated knowledge and skills within the LPN defined scope of practice or patient population dependent on the nature of the caseload (e.g. acute care, gerontology, palliative, etc.).

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain rapport with people and their families.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others within the context of an interprofessional team.

Ability to observe and recognize changes in a person’s condition or health status.

Ability to plan, organize and prioritize; and ability to implement a plan of care.

Ability to operate related equipment including proficiency in relevant computer applications.

Physical ability to perform the duties of the position. Requirements
