  • Competitive wages About the Job Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH) is a referral centre for the South Okanagan. Our emergency department sees upwards of 40k visits, and we have 172 acute beds and 102 extended care beds and offer a full range of health services to the community. Medical Laboratory Assistants perform a variety of duties such as taking blood and receiving samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, distributing specimens to departments and referral Labs, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required. This is a Relief Full Time (1.0) opportunity until the return of the incumbent. Shifts of work will be scheduled rotating days, evenings and nights.   • Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program, plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Canadian Driver’s License as required by position
  • Ability to type 25 WPM *5 minute invigilated typing test dated within the past 48 months from an approved institution. Please note we do not accept self-administered online tests*

Requirements

Grade 12 and successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program. One year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Canadian Driver’s License as required by the position. Ability to type 25 WPM (with a 5 minute invigilated typing test dated within the past 48 months from an approved institution; self-administered online tests not accepted)
