We are seeking compassionate and skilled Mobile Health Outreach Workers to join our team in providing health information and harm reduction supplies to reduce the transmission of infectious diseases. The Mobile Health Outreach team is responsible for providing care, connection, and linkage for individuals, peers, and agency partners located within Central Vancouver Island.
Key Responsibilities
Providing harm reduction supplies, health information, and Point of Care Testing (POCT) for priority populations vulnerable to contracting or transmitting HIV/HCV
Health promotion and teaching endorsed harm reduction health practices
Promoting connection and link to social support, relevant health, income and social services.
Promoting safe spaces that are inclusive and provides culturally relevant health education around HIV/HCV prevention, harm reduction and treatment
Travelling to locations across Central Vancouver Island
Requires a diploma in social services, health and human services, or equivalent education with related experience. Must hold First Aid, CPR, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certifications and pass a criminal record check.
