Recent related experience in an operating room an asset. Experience with Anesthesia equipment an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required.
Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course required.
On-the-job training includes: an understanding and application of safety principles to self, staff and patients; an understanding of aseptic techniques and surgical supplies as they apply to the operating room theaters.
Training will also include orientation to anesthesia equipment including, but not limited to, airway equipment, anesthesia circuits, ventilators, fluid delivery systems.
This training takes approximately 2 weeks and is based on the various job assignments including housekeeping, room clean-up, and patient care (i.e. transport, lifting, turning, assisting and positioning).
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.

Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
Must be fluent in written and verbal English and possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
