Administer direct nursing care for patients within the scope of the RPN license (College of Nurses of Ontario). Provide indirect patient care by ensuring proper maintenance, cleaning, and assembly of equipment and facilities. Work cooperatively with other health team members while maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Deliver care in Surgical Services areas (Operating Room/Day Surgery/Ambulatory Care/Endoscopy)
Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Successful completion of an approved RPN program.
Successful completion of a post-graduate perioperative nursing course and/or equivalent experience.
Completion of Medication Administration for R.P.N.’s, medical asepsis, catheterization and IV training/education, with previous experience using these skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications and software related to healthcare programs.
Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, performance levels, disciplinary history, and positive work references.
Courses in Behaviour Approach (e.g., P.I.E.C.E.S, GPA, or restorative) would be an asset.
Previous experience in nursing skills pertinent to Surgical Services would be an asset.
Previous experience providing care to patients undergoing minimally invasive or same-day surgical procedures would be an asset.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination before commencing employment (exceptions may be made for legislated protected reasons).
Clear criminal/vulnerable sector check as a condition of employment
