Provide occupational therapy services to Mental Health & Substance Use clients and their caregivers as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The Occupational Therapist works as a member of a multidisciplinary team, providing occupational therapy services to Mental Health & Substance Use clients and their caregivers, referred to the team. Is a consultant/resource to referral agencies, care facilities, and caregivers. Provides general occupational therapy clinical services to team clients. Participates in the provision of education to the client, the caregiver, the service provider and the public related to Mental Health & Substance Use.
Graduation from a recognized university program in Occupational Therapy.
Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as an Occupational Therapist.
Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).
1 to 2 years of experience working with Mental Health and Substance Use Services clients (combination of education and experience may be considered).
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to network with other services and agencies.
Demonstrated clinical skills working with seriously mentally ill and/or addicted clients.
Ability to write clear, concise reports.
Ability to operate a computer including related software.
Working knowledge of relevant legislation applicable (Mental Health Act, Guardianship Act)
