Job Summary: Motivated, compassionate and organized, you will be enthusiastically providing person centered home care to our clients in their private residence and the community, ensuring that their needs are met while promoting independence.
The Health Care Worker will also provide emotional support to the client and their family members by interacting with other staff and designated professional support services to provide high-quality care.
This position will require that you maintain client respect and dignity at all times while adhering to the mission and core values of Catholic Social Services.
You will also be required to adhere to professional boundaries and maintain client confidentiality and privacy at all times.
A typical day includes variety and requires dexterity to successfully complete assigned duties.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to meet the following requirements (including but not limited to): Primarily working in clients’ or family members’ homes and in the community; requirement to work in a variety of environments Perform a high degree of physical activities including walking, climbing stairs, standing, sitting, lifting, and supporting clients Lifting or moving may be required for clients’ transfers, lifts, and/or turning and may include other mobility aids such as wheelchairs May occasionally work directly with complex needs clients who display varying behaviours of concern including physical aggression Driving required frequently, including during winter and other poor weather and/or road conditions and may include the transportation of equipment Please note, as our programs operate 24 hours per day, shift work is required and will include weekends.
This position is primarily evening shifts.

Must be a certified Health Care Aide (HCA) or equivalent with enrollment on the HCA Directory and at least one year of personal care experience. Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, reliable vehicle with insurance, and clear criminal record checks.
