About the role

Maintain current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Deliver safe administration of medication and treatments with accuracy and quality.

Follow plans of care (service plans) and identify/report changes in residents' well-being to the Charge Nurse or leadership.

Understand and apply relevant policies, procedures, legislation, and regulations applicable to Long-Term Care (including Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act).

Support resident-centered social culture and deliver high-quality personal care.

Work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team to understand residents' needs and advocate for residents' participation in care decisions.

Support new resident move-ins and facilitate transfers to hospital or changes in medical needs.

Collaborate with the Neighbourhood Physician during weekly rounds and update care plans accordingly.

Update care plans in the current system using proficient communication and computer skills.

Demonstrate understanding of the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the RPN role

Remains calm and manages stress appropriately.</li> <li>Deliver safe administration of medication and treatments with a focus on accuracy, quality and meeting our residents&rsquo; quality of life requests.&nbsp;</li> <li>Follow plans of care (or service plans) in accordance with the standards of the College of Nurses and able to identify and report any changes in the resident&rsquo;s well-being to the Charge Nurse or Village leadership team.</li> <li>Have an understanding of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, and regulations applicable to the Long-Term Care sector, including the Fixing Long-Term.

Requirements

Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Heart Save Level of CPR.
