About the role

The physician will provide temporary primary care access to patients on the Need a Family Practice registry. They will work within a collaborative team including nurse practitioners and pharmacists to deliver immediate health care needs.

Company Description Nova Scotia Health is seeking family physicians to join a new and developing team at the Lunenburg County Primary Care Clinic (PCC) which is located in the Medical Arts Building Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.

The Lunenburg County PCC provides temporary primary care access to patients registered on the Need a Family Practice registry and living in the Lunenburg County area.

The clinic provides appointments for people who have an immediate health care need that requires care.

Patients can make an appointment with a healthcare provider at the clinic while they continue to remain on the registry to find a family practice.

This clinic is collaborative in nature and will consist of family physicians, nurse practitioners, family practice nurses, care team assistant, social worker and pharmacist.

It is managed by Nova Scotia Health with administrative support and is fully integrated on a Med Access.

This is a well-maintained facility with access to a meeting space.

There is free on-site parking for staff and patients.

Lunenburg County PCC will work closely with community partners to deliver health education that align with PHC principles.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Physician will be responsible to the zone department head of family practice for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice, and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority Expected Hours Sessional hourly rate available. Flexible hours can be accommodated.

Qualifications

All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

Requirements
