About the role

Provide comprehensive family medicine care and take over the patient panel of a retiring physician. Deliver office-based primary care while collaborating with a supportive team of physicians and medical office assistants.

Company Description This Family Focus clinic is a well‑established, collegial primary care practice located inside a Lawtons Pharmacy building. Three family physicians currently practise at this location, and the incoming physician will be joining a supportive and approachable team. The clinic uses MedAccess EMR and benefits from a highly trained MOA team, an on‑site manager, and dedicated billing specialist support.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive family medicine care within a group of three physicians. Take over the patient panel of a retiring physician. Deliver office‑based primary care with support from MOAs and a clinic manager. Collaborate with colleagues in an independent yet supportive group environment. Office‑based procedures may be performed if desired, with sterilization support available. Expected Hours Full‑time schedule with flexibility based on practice preferences. No on‑call responsibilities.

Qualifications

All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

Community Details Lower Sackville is approximately 25 kms or a 20 minute drive from downtown Halifax, and its close proximity to the capital gives Lower Sackville the advantages of local employment opportunities and infrastructure of a larger city. The district is very typical of many “commuter communities”, experiencing exponential growth in recent years. The community's growth reflects its central location, near both Halifax and Dartmouth, with easy access to Highway 102. Making it an easy commute to employment opportunities and services of a larger city, and is typical of most commuter communities experiencing growth in North America. Lower Sackville has experienced ribbon/strip-style commercial development along Trunk 1 since the 1960s. Current retail chains include Sobeys, Atlantic Superstore, Canadian Tire, Cleve's Sporting Goods, Dollarama and Giant Tiger. There are numerous independent retailers located in this area as well. The majority of Lower Sackville's suburbs were built in the 1970s on the southern edge of First Lake, which offers outdoor recreational opportunities. In recent years with the development of Sunset Ridge, Lawson Estates and Twin Brooks entering from Executive Drive and connecting to Millwood subdivision has driven the growth of the area. These planned communities have a combination of single detached homes, semi-detached and even apartment complexes. Due to the good resale of the homes in Lower and Middle Sackville it is a popular neighbourhood for military families. Requirements
