Support Mental Health front desk at Kelowna Community Health and Services Centre (CHSC).

Register patients, including scheduling and confirming appointments.

Answer telephones and handle general correspondence.

Maintain records, chart notes, and reports.

Perform medical billing.

Complete data entry and word processing using graphic and database applications.

Compile and enter statistical information.

Record, transcribe, and type forms and other correspondence.

Balance and check revenue transactions.

Manage medical/surgical supplies and equipment and other resource material.

Escort patients to examination/treatment rooms and ensure appropriate instruments and supplies are set up.

Attend sensitive examination procedures and treatments and perform routine measurements (weight, BMI calculations, eye exams, urinalysis).

Clean and sterilize medical equipment and instruments; deliver and dispose of supplies and biological/material/equipment

Kelowna Community Health and Services Centre has an exciting opportunity for Relief full-time Medical Office Assistant to join their team in Kelowna, B.C. This role supports Mental Health's front desk at CHSC. Hours of work are Days 08:30 to 16:30 Days off: Sun, Sat, STAT

Qualfications Education, Training and Experience:
  • Grade 12, graduation from a Medical Office Assistant course from an accredited Community College, plus two years recent related experience in a health care setting; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must have a Valid BC Driver’s License is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in fast-paced health centre environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using all communication vehicles.
  • Completion of an administered 5-minute typing certificate of 40 wpm in the last 24 months from an approved institution (non-supervised tests are not accepted).

Requirements

Grade 12 plus two years’ recent related experience in a health care setting (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
