About the Program
The Community Encampment Program provides coordinated response working alongside our Indigenous Wellness Program in the Abbotsford District by providing service for at-risk, high need individuals who require an intervention-based non-emergency response, often directly related to substance use, mental health, and homelessness.
The Full-Time Encampment Support Worker will be part of a larger team in Chilliwack with backgrounds in social work, housing, substance use and mental health. The Encampment Support Worker will provide front-line intervention and assessment of needs and support, through coordination of the services required, and the follow-through for ensuring the best success of these coordinated efforts.
Requires knowledge of trauma-informed practice, harm reduction, and community resources in Abbotsford. Candidates should have training in Naloxone, mental health, and substance use, along with the ability to maintain strong professional boundaries.
