Faced with the challenges of rural care delivery, WPSHC has partnered in regional alliances and created internal programming solutions that have benefited patient care and improved services throughout the catchment area. Today our uniquely integrated health care organization includes Lakeland Long Term Care, six Nursing Stations delivering care to rural communities, management of District ambulance services and dispatch, and a full range of in-patient and out-patient programs associated with a 90-bed acute care hospital. About the Opportunity WPSHC currently has a opening for Registered Practical Nurse to join our inter-disciplinary team of skilled professionals. The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) will be an essential part of the Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic, working as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver professional primary medical care and health education programs to the community. The hours of work are day shifts, Monday to Friday. This job posting is for a current vacancy. More About You To qualify for the role, you will need a current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario. You will also need to have:
  • Successful completion of an approved RPN program;
  • A current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Completion of Medication Administration for R.P.N.’s, medical asepsis, catheterization and IV training/education, combined with previous experience utilizing these skills;
  • Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract, and access to a vehicle, as travel is required.
  • Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, performance levels, disciplinary history and positive work references;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications and software related to healthcare programs;
  • Courses in Behaviour Approach (such as P.I.E.C.E.S, GPA or restorative), would be an asset
  • Primary care experience would be an asset;
  • Previous experience in Nursing Skills pertinent to Acute Care, would be an asset. Requirements

Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Successful completion of an approved RPN program.

Completion of Medication Administration for R.P.N.’s, medical asepsis, catheterization and IV training/education (with previous experience using these skills).
