Working in the community setting as a member of a multidisciplinary care team, the Mental Health Clinician provides assessment, intake, intervention, treatment, consultation and referral for clients experiencing mental health problems and their caregivers/families.
Master's degree in a health-related discipline from an approved post-secondary institution.
Recognized post-basic education related to mental illness.
Four (4) years recent related experience.
Significant understanding of mental health issues.
Knowledge of applicable legislation including the Mental Health Act and the Guardianship Act.
Knowledge of available programs and their interrelationships in delivering community care.
Knowledge of mental health assessments, treatment methodologies, intervention strategies, change process, and community dynamics.
Valid BC Driver's License.
DBT and EMDR training.
Group facilitation training.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision and cooperatively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to operate a personal computer with Windows-based software.
Ability to physically and emotionally carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to use a personal vehicle
