About the role

As an Occupational Therapist, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent client outcomes and coordinate the return to work process with all stakeholders. You will also provide various assessments and develop new programs to meet client needs.

Part-time Independent Contractor role - Nanaimo

As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll find the tools you need to help people return to the workplace and improve their quality of life. Hourly IC Rate: $70-$80 per hour

  • Take an inside look at what you’ll do each day
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent client outcomes
  • Work with clients with Mental Health diagnoses, brain and spinal cord injury
  • Provide impartial home, job, and safety/attendant care assessments, functional ability evaluations, insurer examinations, ergonomic assessments, client education, and job coaching, as required
  • Coordinate the return to work process with all stakeholders in a timely way, ensuring a smooth transition into the workplace
  • Work closely with the team and other resources to develop new programs to meet identified client needs
  • Network with internal and external stakeholders to promote new and existing programs
  • Perform regular, timely charting, reporting and communication
  • Record workload measurement data
  • Attend staff meetings and case conference meetings, as required
  • Provide professional services to other CBI facilities or departments, as required
  • Here’s what you’ll need to be successful
  • You are a graduate of a recognized School of Occupational Therapy
  • You are a registered member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in BC
  • Have experience in the private sector and working within the community
  • Experience with Mental Health diagnoses, brain and spinal cord injuries would be an asset
  • Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle
  • You are passionate about your profession and committed to ongoing professional development

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of a recognized School of Occupational Therapy and registered with the College of Occupational Therapists in BC. Experience with Mental Health diagnoses and brain/spinal cord injuries is preferred, and new graduates are welcome to apply.
