About the role

The CDA will prepare treatment rooms, assist the dentist chairside using four-handed dentistry, and maintain sterile instruments. Additional duties include taking X-rays, performing intra-oral procedures, and managing patient records and scheduling.

The team at 7 Dental Central Park located in Ottawa, ON is looking for a passionate CDA for full-time position.

Primary Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms and patients for dental procedures.

Assist the dentist chairside during examinations and treatments using four-handed dentistry.

Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention and control standards.

Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) .

Take impressions, polish teeth, apply fluoride and sealants, and perform other authorized intra-oral duties.

Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories.

Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.

Schedule appointments, process payments, manage billing, and order dental supplies as needed.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program.
  • Dental Assistant Level II (or equivalent) certification.
  • HARP (Healing Arts Radiation Protection) certification for taking dental X-rays.
  • CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPAC) protocols.
  • Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Tracker, or Abel dent) is often an asset.
