Position Summary

Interior Health is seeking applicants for an exciting opportunity as a Health Care Assistant! If you are interested in an opportunity to provide patient-centred care, this opportunity may be for you! This is a fully funded training pathway toward becoming a Health Care Assistant through an accredited post-secondary Health Care Assistant program. Not only is the tuition fully funded but you receive a wage while you go to school! Applicants are hired to start their education in a Health Care Assistant training program at a partnering post-secondary institution. The training program will be delivered over the course of 6-8 months. Once the program is completed the candidate will apply for their BC Care Aide registration. Upon completion and registration, candidates are expected to complete a paid one year return of service with Interior Health. We are currently seeking interested candidates for training positions in the following communities: Nakusp, Grand Forks, Trail, New Denver, Kaslo, Clearwater, 100 Mile House, Ashcroft, Merritt and Lillooet. If English is your first language you must have successfully completed of English 10 or equivalency

If English is not your first language, you must have a valid English competency test completed within the last 2 years, and your results must match the requirement of the educational program

Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident

Clear Criminal Record Check (from the Ministry) Please note, applicants must not have completed an HCA training program, hold BCCA registration or be employed as an HCA currently.
