The Occupational Therapist performs clinical assessments, individual treatments, and group facilitation for clients with various mental health conditions. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support functional independence and facilitate return-to-work planning.
Community Advocacy Participate in mental health promotion activities and contribute to establishing and maintaining mental health and addictions community resources. Other responsibilities related to the role and scope of work may be assigned. WHAT YOU BRING
Experience A minimum of two years of experience supporting clients with mental health conditions, including assessment/triage and treatment, is required.
Experience supporting first responders is an asset.
Experience working with third-party funders is an asset.
Equivalencies of education may be considered.
Education A Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
Training certificates in trauma therapy, specifically Prolonged Exposure Therapy is an asset.
Professional Registration/Designation An active registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) is required.
Professional liability insurance is required.
Technical Competences Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams is required. Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is also required.
This role may require occasional travel.
A valid driver's license and sufficient insurance coverage is required.
