The clinical team at Saint John are passionate about enriching the health of their clients through a holistic approach, as the Occupational Therapist, you will support clients in a variety of ways such as concussion management and return to function planning, and provide a comprehensive, objective assessment of an individual's physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities, particularly in relation to work demands or daily life activities.

Your impact
As our Occupational Therapist you will provide both individual and program-based treatments and assessments for individuals recovering from motor vehicle accidents and workplace injuries. They also play a pivotal role supporting individuals facing physical, cognitive and mental wellness goals. In this role, you will:
Evaluate the worker's physical, cognitive, and psychological functions, as well as job demands and workplace environment
Create tailored, graded return-to-work plans with specific, measurable goals that gradually increase activity and build tolerance.
Perform clinical evaluations, provide exercises, functional tasks, and cognitive strategies (e.g., pacing, energy conservation) to address injury-related deficits.
Occupational Health screenings to evaluate an employee's physical, cognitive, and functional capacity to ensure they can safely perform job duties
Identification of appropriate equipment needs with initiation of recommendations
Teach techniques like mindfulness, relaxation, and sleep hygiene to manage pain, fatigue, and emotional distress.
Provide educationto theclientand employer about the recovery process, the benefits of staying connected to work, and their roles in the plan.
Work with employers toidentifysuitable modified duties, adapt the work environment, andmonitorprogress
Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart
Excel in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team environment
Exhibit sound professional judgment
