About the Position

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Personal Support Worker (PSW) is an integral member of the Nursing team. The PSW is responsible for providing exceptional resident-centred care by assisting with activities of daily living, promoting resident independence, and supporting the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of our residents. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and transfers. Assisting residents with meals, hydration, and nutritional support. Administering medications in accordance with organizational policies and applicable legislation (training provided). Assisting in the nursing process by observing, documenting, and reporting changes in residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive conditions. Supporting residents in recreational and social activities that promote quality of life. Maintaining accurate documentation and communicating effectively with the interdisciplinary team. Following infection prevention and control practices, resident safety procedures, and organizational policies. Promoting resident dignity, privacy, choice, and the Residents' Bill of Rights. Contributing to a positive, collaborative, and respectful team environment. Qualifications

Personal Support Worker Certificate from an accredited Ontario Community College or Registered Private Career College. Current CPR/First Aid certification is considered an asset. Previous experience working with seniors in retirement or long-term care is considered an asset. Experience Demonstrated knowledge and experience providing person-centred care in accordance with the Retirement Homes Act and organizational policies and procedures. Medication administration experience is preferred; however, training will be provided as medication administration is a requirement of the position. Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Knowledge of and commitment to upholding the Residents' Bill of Rights. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service and compassionate care for seniors. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, transferring, repositioning, and assisting residents. Knowledge of safe resident handling practices and infection prevention and control protocols. Ability to respond appropriately to residents experiencing responsive behaviours. Strong observation, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Basic computer skills are considered an asset. Flexible availability to work day, evening, and night shifts. Requirements

Candidates must hold a Personal Support Worker Certificate from an accredited Ontario college and be available for day, evening, night, and alternating weekend shifts. CPR/First Aid certification and previous experience in long-term care are considered assets.
