About the role

Assess, manage, and prioritize high-risk mental health cases to ensure safe and timely clinical interventions. This includes conducting suicide risk assessments, providing crisis support, and coordinating with emergency resources.

Your role as Mental Health Specialist (ER & Crisis)

Reporting to Annabel Tremblay, Manager, Mental Health Specialists, the mission of the Mental Health Specialist (ER & Crisis) is to assess, manage, and prioritize high-risk mental health cases within the Dialogue platform. This role ensures safe, timely, and clinically appropriate intervention for members experiencing acute distress or elevated risk.

What you'll be doing Conduct suicide risk and crisis assessments (including C-SSRS and other clinical tools) Triage and manage high-risk and urgent mental health cases in a high-volume environment Provide crisis intervention, safety planning and de-escalation support Determine risk level and appropriate clinical pathway (internal or external escalation), coordination with emergency/community resources Collaborate with medical, nursing, and primary care teams for continuity of care Maintain clear, accurate, and clinically sound documentation Support member navigation to appropriate services Contribute to continuous improvement of crisis and triage protocols We'd love to hear from you if you have Bilingual in English and French, both written and spoken Bachelor's degree in a mental health or human relations field 2+ years of intervention experience as a social worker (or similar role) with a population presenting with challenges related to mental health including being comfortable with psychosocial assessments Available to work a minimum of 8 hours per week including weeknights and weekends Very good knowledge of community and institutional resources Desire to work in an environment that encourages autonomy, professionalism and versatility Attracted by an innovative environment, as well as an ease with computer tools Please note that as we serve customers across Canada, bilingualism is essential for this position. You may be required to communicate in French and English.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in mental health or human relations and at least 2 years of intervention experience as a social worker or similar role. Full bilingualism in English and French is essential for serving customers across Canada.
