The Cardiology Technologist performs various cardiac diagnostic tests, including ECGs and stress testing, in an urgent care environment. They are responsible for analyzing results and summarizing them for medical staff interpretation within a patient-centered framework.
Within the context of a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the organization, the Cardiology Technologist conducts various cardiac diagnostic tests such as Electrocardiogram (ECG), standard and nuclear stress testing, and Holter monitoring, and analyzes results and summarizes for interpretation by medical staff in an urgent/emergent care environment.This work is framed within VCH’s commitments to our pillars of Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Planetary Health.
Education & Experience Diploma in Cardiology Technology plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Successful completion of the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist (CSCT) certification exam. Eligible for membership with the Cardiology Technologist Association of British Columbia (CTABC).
