Provide assessment, treatment, service coordination, and urgent response to complex clients with serious acute mental health problems and/or problematic substance use issues.
Deliver advanced practice counselling and treatment using specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups, and/or families.
Function as a primary clinician within a multi-disciplinary MHSU team.
Provide timely, responsive, evidence-based short term treatment and clinical supports across the continuum of available services.
Support clients with co-occurring disorders and serious functional impairment across physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life domains.
Coordinate services as part of the Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) health care team
Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position.
Two (2) years’ recent related experience in a mental health and substance use environment (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
Current valid B.C.
Driver’s License (Class 5).
Past and/or current counselling experience.
Group facilitation experience.
Good working knowledge and experience in Mental Health & Substance Use.
General competency in concurrent disorders.
Extensive understanding of physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of clients, their families, and their community.
Extensive knowledge of Indigenous communities and resources (ideally those in the Thompson area)
