As a Home Support Caregiver, you will help clients live safely, comfortably, and with dignity in your home environment. You will support a person who is living with your home and will work together with families and professionals to provide behavioural support, daily living assistance, and community inclusion. This is not an employment position with Catholic Social Services. You will function as an Independent Contractor, and the Agency will support to you to meet standards of care in accordance with pertinent and applicable policies and procedures when caring for persons with disabilities. Key Responsibilities These will vary on the needs of the individual: Provide personal care (hygiene, mobility, medication assistance). Implement behaviour support strategies and follow individual care plans. Support clients with communication challenges, emotional regulation, and daily routines. Maintain a safe, predictable environment and respond calmly during escalations. Complete a monthly report and communicate regularly with family members or supervisors. Encourage independence, social engagement, and meaningful activities.
Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, mental health needs, or complex behaviours is preferred Training or familiarity with Positive Behaviour Supports (PBS) or crisis‑intervention strategies Ability to remain patient, empathetic, and consistent during challenging situations Vulnerable Sector Police check and Child intervention check upon application required Reliable, respectful, and committed to high‑quality care
