Job Description

  • Summary: Support the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks that are vital to patient care. Medical Assistants must adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines to ensure patient safety and confidentiality. They are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion during all interactions. Must have a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify. Phlebotomy skills are preferred. Certification that is up to days by one of the following organizations: - Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Certification issued by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or - Certified Clinical Medial Assistant (CCMA) Certification issued by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or - Medical Assistant (RMA) certification issued by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or - Medical Assistant (NCMA) certification issued by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or - AMCA - American Medical Certification Association (CMAC) What You’ll Do: Join our employee health team - there's an opportunity to work independently in an office located inside of our hospitals. They support different sites working with internal team members and in this department you'll have work/life balance. Some job duties unique to employee health include: FIT Testing Data Entry Flu Vaccine Program Education and Care for minor injuries Blood Pressures Intake for newly hired team members - providing new hire appointments Your feedback matters. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present. Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions. Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines. Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed. May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical Abilities Testing may be required. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday. Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other team member, when available.   • case basis. Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills. Will be exposed to the following hazards on a frequent basis: mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood and body fluids. Will be required to wear protective clothing and equipment as needed. Requirements
