Position Overview Under the general direction of the Charge Technologist and the Medical Site Manager (Pathologist), this position is responsible for the reception, gross description and dissection of surgical tissue specimens as well as selecting and preparing tissue specimens for processing in preparation for microscopic diagnosis. The incumbent will maintain a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines and ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and maintain standards put forth by Accreditation. Two years relevant experience required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Graduate from a recognized Pathology Assistant Program preferred. Bachelor of Science degree including courses in Human Anatomy and Physiology from a recognized university; Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) specializing in Histology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Membership with the Canadian Association of Pathologists (CAP) or equivalent (the American Association of Pathologists’ Assistants) is preferred.

Fluent language skills (written and oral) in both French and English may be required.
