Salary Details The salary range for this position is CAD $30.40/Hr. - CAD $37.96/Hr.

Job Summary Come work as an Employed Student Respiratory Therapist (ESRT) with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Respiratory Therapist Students to join the team.

ESRTs will be assigned to work at one site: either Vancouver General Hospital, Lions Gate Hospital, or Richmond Hospital.

Within the context of a client and family centred care model and under the direction and/or support of a Practice Lead, Educator, or Supervising Respiratory Therapist, the Employed Student Respiratory Therapist provides direct Respiratory Therapy care to patients commensurate with their level of education and training.

Operates in accordance with the unit/program philosophy, organizational principles including Indigenous Cultural Safety, cultural humility and anti-racism principles, competency guidelines, policies, and Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) Standards for Respiratory practices.

Qualifications

Education & Experience Enrollment in an accredited and recognized Respiratory Therapy Program and currently completing a clinical placement. Certification in Basic Life Support or equivalent. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to organize assigned workload and set priorities. Ability to think critically and problem solve. Ability to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts including co-workers, patients, and families, physicians, community agency representatives. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position. Closing Statement The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
