As a Clinical Laboratory Assistant, you are responsible for sample preparation, sample testing, and post analytical tasks such as sample storage and disposal, and maintenance procedures.

1 Internal Posting Deadline: June 28, 2026 Why Dynacare is an amazing place for YOU: Join an award-winning "Top Employer" with meaningful and impactful career opportunities Access a health and wellness benefits program that supports you and your loved ones Grow and thrive with a dynamic, successful company through internal mobility opportunities Invest in your future through RRSP match benefits and an employee stock purchase program Experience a collaborative, diverse workforce that prioritizes dignity and respect for all How YOU will make a difference: Ensure that all samples are properly labeled and identified before testing Follow established protocol for the handling of unsuitable samples Operate complex instruments following department procedures Perform simple non-interpretive testing procedures Ensure that all abnormal, critical and STATS are processed as outlined in the department guidelines Responsible for the follow-up on missing samples, documentation and results as and when required Ensure all inquiries and problems are handled in a courteous and professional manner Ensure adequate amount of supplies are on hand and that validated reagents and testing kits to be used are in date order Data enter the results into the company’s database as required Ensure that quality control checks are performed as required in documented work procedures Refer results for Medical Laboratory Technologist to review Responsible for monitoring quality control guidelines and making appropriate corrections Responsible to follow all relevant pre and/or post analytical quality protocols as described in the company quality assurance manual Perform routine equipment maintenance following documented procedures Document all maintenance performed, including minor troubleshooting following manufacturer’s instructions Observe and report all malfunctions in equipment and maintain all required logbooks for routine equipment Responsible for disinfecting the work area and equipment on a daily basis Store and discard specimens according to appropriate department procedure manuals What YOU bring to the role: How YOU will make a difference: Ensures that all samples are properly labeled and identified before testing. Follows established protocol for the handling of unsuitable samples. Operates complex instruments following department procedures. Performs simple non-interpretive testing procedures under the supervision of a qualified technologist. Ensures all inquiries and problems are handled in a courteous and professional manner. Performs routine equipment maintenance following documented procedures. Documents all maintenance performed, including minor troubleshooting following manufacturer’s instructions. Ensures all quality control checks and standards are maintained Other duties as assigned What YOU bring to the role: Laboratory Assistant Program or equivalent previous experience Graduate of an approved laboratory assistant course or equivalent Excellent computer skills Nice to have: Knowledge of AS400 Data Entry system/LIS an asset Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Good organizational skills Ability to work independently Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team centered environment. Pay rate: $22.00-$24.50 per hour The hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to, level of experience and education requirements. Requirements

Requires graduation from an approved laboratory assistant program or equivalent experience. Must possess excellent computer skills and strong verbal and written English communication abilities.
