Your role

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment
  • Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow
  • Assist the dentist during oral surgery procedures, including extractions, implant placements, root cancls and other surgical treatments.
  • Pre and post operative care instructions to patients
  • Take dental X-rays and digital images as required
  • Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards
  • Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
  • Anticipate the needs of the dentist during procedures and provide efficient chairside support.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care
  • Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines
  • Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour

About you

  • Registeredas a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required
  • NDAEB Certification
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a surgical setting assisting with extractions, implants and other procedures
  • Previous dental assisting experience is preferred
