Spectrum Health Care is hiring for full time and part-time Foot Care Nurses (RN/RPN) in York Region.

The Foot Care Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients with foot-related health issues in clinic settings, retirement homes, Long Term Care homes, and/or clients’ private homes.

In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of foot conditions, with an emphasis on preventing complications and improving patient outcomes.If you are passionate about delivering exceptional health care and are committed to making a difference, we’d love to hear from you.

Join our team today!Job DescriptionPerform thorough foot assessments, identify risk factors, and develop individualized care plans according to evidence-based practices.Provide preventive care and treatment for foot conditions, including managing skin issues, trimming nails, addressing calluses, and treating ulcers and wounds.Implement strategies for pressure relief and offloading, particularly for high-risk patients.Educate patients on daily foot care, proper hygiene, and appropriate footwear, offering counselling and support to promote overall foot health.Follow strict infection control protocols and adhere to best practices for infection prevention, particularly when managing high-risk populations.Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records.QualificationsCurrently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)Advanced and Diabetic Foot Care certificate is requiredPrior experience in foot care is an assetExcellent written and verbal communication skillsValid G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicleAbility to effectively manage time and prioritiesAbility to work independently and within a teamComputer knowledge and has the ability to learn proprietary software.

Requirements

Candidates must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario and hold an Advanced and Diabetic Foot Care certificate. A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are required for travel to patient locations.
