Open until filledAltum Health is seeking an experienced Registered Massage Therapist to support our Barrie site. The successful individual would have the knowledge, skills and abilities in rehabilitation and return to work of injured workers. Primary responsibilities include: setting goals and providing treatment plans for clients to initiate appropriate treatment intervention based on clinical assessment.The massage therapist must gauge the condition of the client’s soft tissues, the joint function and quality, range of motion, and muscle strength. The massage therapist must propose a specific treatment plan for the client. The massage therapist will consult with other health care professionals in an interdisciplinary team to develop treatment plans for clients. The massage therapist is to provide ongoing evaluation of client progress, administer and collect outcome measurement information, participate in quality improvement initiatives, communicate to appropriate referral sources and stakeholders. The massage therapist should educate clients on how to improve their posture and teach them strengthening, stretching, and rehabilitative exercises as well as relaxation techniques. Performs cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested. Works in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contravention’s of the Act, in a timely manner.QualificationsMinimum of 1 Year working in an interdisciplinary practice preferredRecognized Massage Therapy Degree/DiplomaRegistration with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario requiredProof of valid malpractice insurance required
