  • Location: Calgary, AB The Calgary Animal Referral and Emergency Centre (CARE Centre) is seeking a contract full-time Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated and dynamic pet health care team. The CARE Centre is a 24-hour emergency and referral specialty hospital. We are committed to supporting pet owners and the veterinary community by providing the highest level of emergency and referral care. The primary role of the Internal Medicine Animal Health Tech Assistant is to assist the AHTs and veterinarians with daily tasks and patient care. They are also the hands-on caregivers for our patients in the hospital, including feeding, walking, and the general cleanliness of patients and their housing, to make their stay as comfortable as possible. Perform proper restraint techniques when assisting AHT’s and veterinarians assess and treat patients Assist veterinarians and AHT's while they collect samples, take radiographs Provide physical and emotional support for patients Help to maintain the hospital treatment areas and ensure general cleanliness Administration duties including client call-backs, filing and faxing
  • Schedule: Routine schedule will be Monday
  • Thursday. Candidates may be asked to be available to work any shift, with the possibility of supporting the team after hours with on-call procedures to accommodate the C.A.R.E. Centre’s 24-hour hospital. Our team members are passionate about pets and their people. The ideal candidate will be energetic, self-motivated, outgoing and possess strong organizational skills. The CARE Centre is a fast-paced environment, so the ability to multi-task is essential. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to thrive in our strongly team-based environment, as well as to provide the exceptional client experience the CARE Centre is known to offer. Requirements

Previous or equivalent veterinary experience is preferred. Candidates should be energetic, self-motivated, and possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
