About the role

The LPN provides direct patient care in primary and ambulatory settings, including the Care Delivery Unit and specialty clinics. Responsibilities include conducting patient histories, performing diagnostic interventions, and counseling patients on preventive health.

Bayshore Medical Personnel is excited to announce a a Full Time contract opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with one (1) full-time equivalent year of experience to join the team in Gagetown, NB. The successful LPN provides services to patients on a walk-in and appointment basis in various primary and ambulatory care settings such as the Care Delivery Unit (CDU), treatment room, and specialty clinic.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will provide direct patient care under the direction of physicians, Registered Nurses, and/or other healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

could include, but are not limited to:

  • COVID screening prior to patients entering the clinic;
  • assistance with vaccinations;
  • conducting patient history and physical assessments;
  • performing selected diagnostic and therapeutic interventions; and
  • counseling patients on preventive health care.

Qualifications

The LPN shall possess, as a minimum, one (1) full-time equivalent year of experience within the last 3 years in nursing practice conducting patient assessments and providing direct nursing care for a broad range of diseases in the adult population in a primary care or ambulatory care setting.

Skills and qualifications

All LPNs must, as a minimum, have

1. Graduated from a Practical Nursing Program approved by Council of the College of Nurses; 2. Current and valid license from the provincial or territorial professional college or association in the province of practice; and 3. Certificate of Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent such as Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) Level C.

Other Requirements

  • Current N95 mask fit certificate CSA Standards Z94.4 (within 2 years)
  • Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) Certification (within 2 years)
