SUMMARY:Practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice as well as within a client and family centred care model and the vision and values of Medical Imaging across the Lower Mainland. Position transcribes and types a variety of medical dictation and other documentation such as diagnostic radiology reports, medical consults and clinical histories from a centralized dictation system utilizing the Radiology Information System, computerized equipment and intermediate word processing software. Responds to work status enquiries, photocopies, faxes and distributes reports in accordance with established procedures as required.QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Grade 12, graduation from an approved program in Medical Transcription plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to keyboard at 60 wpm.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to deal with others effectively.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.Ability to operate related equipment.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
