Must have current registration as a Registered Nurse with the BCCNM and successfully complete a perioperative education program. 1-2 years of medical/surgical experience is preferred.

The new St. Paul’s Hospital is expected to open in 2027. Competitive pay: $41.42 to $55.91 CAD per hour, depending on experience. Community site: Mount Saint Joseph Hospital’s (MSJ) OR is a community-level surgical site with four operating rooms, is home to Providence’s Ophthalmology Program which operates in three procedure rooms, and the Main OR holds 80% of the province's breast cancer surgeries. Variety of surgical services: In addition to ophthalmology and breast cancer surgeries, surgical services at MSJ include general surgery, dentistry, otolaryngology, plastic surgery and urology. Your Day to Day: Review patient/resident status using various methods: chart review, observation, interviews, questionnaires, collateral information, and consultation with healthcare team. Assess patient/resident problems and needs, plan, implement, evaluate, and prioritize nursing care and interventions based on clinical judgment and evidence-based practice. Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, technology, and PHC standards. Monitor patient/resident progress, evaluate outcomes, reassess as needed, and modify care plan accordingly. Record observations and communicate changes in patient/resident condition to designated staff.
