The role involves establishing trauma-informed relationships with youth to conduct biopsychosocial assessments and co-create care plans focused on housing stability. The navigator coordinates complex care services and acts as the primary point of contact between youth and various healthcare and legal providers.
Candidates require a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and registration with a professional body, along with 2-3 years of experience in mental health and addictions. Valid CPI/UMAB, First Aid/CPR certifications, a driver's license, and a Vulnerable Sector Police Check are mandatory.

The Mental Health and Harm Reduction System Navigator works within the context of a Housing First for Youth (HF4Y) ACT team care model, in accordance with the standards of professional practice and consistent with the mission, vision and values and established policy and protocols of the organization. The Mental Health and Harm Reduction System Navigator works as part of a broader community care system to deliver services to clients experiencing various levels of substance use, addictions, and mental health challenges.
