Manage acute and chronic cardio respiratory conditions.

Perform airway management.

Set up and monitor ventilators.

Assist with diagnostics including pulmonary function tests and arterial blood sampling.

Support code blues, trauma cases, high risk deliveries, and ICU rounds.

Participate in High Acuity Response Team (HART) transports.

Work rotating day and night shifts with on-call requirements.

Relieve vacant shifts; schedule subject to change per the collective agreement

Position Summary

We are hiring a relief, full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) at East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKH) located in Cranbrook, B.C. Days of work: Rotating Shift times: 07:00 to 19:15, 19:00 to 07:15; on call and HART transports are required with this position

At EKH, Respiratory Therapists are key clinical partners across the entire hospital, providing care in all acute areas and participating directly in High Acuity Response Team (HART) transports. This position is used to relieve vacant shifts. Schedule is subject to change as per the collective agreement. The role includes managing acute and chronic cardio respiratory conditions, performing airway management, ventilator setup and monitoring, assisting with diagnostics (like pulmonary function tests and arterial blood sampling), and supporting code blues, trauma cases, high risk deliveries, and ICU rounds. RTs work rotating day and night shifts with on call and HART transports required.
