Reporting to the Coordinator of Therapy Programs, responsible for unit level therapy programs. This includes assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating therapy care plans on both an individual and group basis, for an assigned number of residents. Provides work direction and delegates work to Rehabilitation Assistants and Rehabilitation Assistant/Drivers. Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Island Health in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
Graduation from a recognized university program in Physiotherapy.
Current practicing full registration with the College of Physical Therapists of BC (CPTBC).
Eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA).
Minimum two (2) years' recent related experience.
Valid BC Driver's License.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal effectively with elderly and physically/mentally handicapped residents.
Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
Physical ability to lift and move residents safely
