Perform various radiological imaging techniques including X-ray, CT, and fluoroscopy, with a specific focus on Mammography and the Ontario Breast Screening Program. The role also involves participating in student clinical education and ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
Must be registered in good standing with the CMRITO in Radiography and have recent experience in general and intra-operative radiography. Certification in Breast Imaging (CBI) and registration with the CAMRT are preferred.
The Medical Radiation Technologist performs a variety of radiological imaging techniques, including X-ray, fluoroscopy, CT and operating room studies. The successful applicant will also performs examinations in the Mammography and Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) including biopsies and needle localizations. This full-time position will work days, evenings, nights, weekends and statuatory holidays. The MRT will also participate in student clinical education. The physical demands of the role may include but are not limited to prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling. This position contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. Training can be made available for those that are interested in Breast Imaging, but who are not currently certified. Skills and Qualifications: Current registration and in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) in Radiography is required Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is preferred Recent experience in general radiography, gastrics, mobile radiography, intra-operative radiography including orthopedic radiographic OR procedures is required Successful completion of Breast Imaging 1 and Breast Imaging 2 from the CAMRT is preferred Certificate in Breast Imaging (CBI) is preferred Recent Mammography experience including all breast interventional procedures is preferred Evidence of continuing education related to the profession is required Demonstrated ability to work responsibly in a team environment Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential. Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required Posted hours do not constitute a guarantee that shifts will not be subject to change.
