The Rehab Assistant is responsible for delivering prescribed treatment programs for adult and pediatric clients to help them achieve maximum potential. Key duties include implementing personalized rehab plans, documenting progress, and facilitating activities of daily living and cognitive therapy.
Candidates must have completed a recognized college program in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or Rehabilitation Assistance, or hold a degree in Kinesiology or a RRP/CCRC designation. A valid driver's license and auto insurance are required for community-based travel.
Depending on work assignment, may include some or all of the following : Person-and family-centered care (PFCC) Person-and family-centered care (PFCC) is an approach to care that recognizes the importance of family in a patient’s life and the importance of their active involvement in planning and making decisions on health care, services and treatment, and health system reform. This approach to care provides respectful, compassionate, culturally safe, and responsive care that meets the needs, values, beliefs, and preferences of the patient, their family, and others identified as significant to their life from diverse backgrounds and settings. Part-time position available: Requires 2-3 days of Monday to Friday availability, with approx.15-20 visits per week Location: Owen Sound and surrounding rural areas (ex. Wiarton, Southampton, Port Elgin etc.) Community based position, pay per visit and mileage in-between clients Empower Clients: Implement personalized rehabilitation programs in collaboration with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, and Speech and Language Pathologists. Foster Independence: Promote maximum independence for clients at home, in the community, and at work to support their re-integration. Lead Exercise Programs: Conduct engaging exercise programs and group exercise classes. Support Behavioral Health: Implement effective behavioral interventions tailored to each client’s needs. Enhance Daily Living: Facilitate and supervise activities of daily living, along with social, educational, and vocational re-integration plans. Boost Cognitive Skills: Implement cognitive therapy programs to enhance clients’ cognitive abilities. Encourage Leisure: Promote and organize enjoyable leisure activities for clients. Collaborate with Teams: Attend case conferences and team meetings to ensure comprehensive care. Provide Transportation: Drive clients safely as needed (with valid insurance coverage). Ensure Safety: Understand and implement infection prevention practices to maintain a safe environment.
