The Registered Practical Nurse will provide care across all Medical and Surgical Inpatient Units as part of the Nursing Resource Team. Responsibilities include performing clinical duties and maintaining availability for all rotating shifts.
Candidates must be a graduate of a recognized RPN diploma program with current CNO registration and BCLS certification. Preferred experience includes at least one year of acute medical/surgical experience and familiarity with Meditech.
$38.893 - $39.458 Union Group: NOWU Hours of work: Rotating shifts, 8 or 12 hours, days/evenings/nights/weekends Location: Humber River Health – Wilson Site Position Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for Registered Practical Nurse duties in all Medical and Surgical Inpatient Units. It is the expectation that members of the Nursing Resources Team are available for all rotating shifts.
Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program. Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Current BCLS certification or demonstrated competency. Minimum 1 year acute medical/surgical experience, preferred. Minimum 2 years experience working with the Nurse Resource Team is an asset. Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities. Experience with patient health teaching. Excellent Health Assessment skills required Demonstrate adherence to the hospital’s code of conduct. Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), intramuscular injections, intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation, Blood Transfusion, Wound Care Dressing, Medication Administration, etc. Basic computer skills and Meditech experience is an asset. Knowledge of community resources Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
