Provide brief mediation and conflict resolution support to youth and families identified by the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Assess child protection concerns and report findings back to the Ministry.
Requires extensive knowledge of family systems, attachment, and child development, including indicators of abuse and neglect. Must possess skills in crisis response, trauma-informed practice, and cultural competency with Indigenous and South Asian families.

PCRS seeks a Family Counsellor to provide brief mediation and conflict resolution support to youth and their families identified by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).
This position requires extensive knowledge of family systems, attachment, mediation, communication, abuse and neglect, and normal and delayed child and family development.
The Family Counsellor must also assess child protection concerns if they arise and report back to the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) in these situations. This requires a solid understanding of the effects and indicators of child abuse.
This position will operate as part of the Surrey Youth Hubs and function as part of an integrated staff team.
