- Position
- Description: As a Sleep Technologist, you’ll be responsible for the proper performance of all procedures relating to the accurate, safe operation of all diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnographic services provided by our clinics.
- A typical shift includes: Applying electrodes and sensors onto patients to monitor their brain waves, breathing patterns, heart rhythms, and eye movements during sleep; Operate, monitor, maintain and test a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment; Operate and monitor respiratory equipment to administer treatments such as oxygen supplement; Ensure that the equipment, instruments, and space used are thoroughly cleaned and maintained; Maintain accurate and complete records of all procedures and test results; Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols; Provide patient education on proper sleep hygiene and use of equipment; Monitor patients throughout the night and make adjustments to equipment as necessary; Ensure quality collections of data for physician review and gain an understanding in how to respond to specific technical findings.
- Position
- Qualifications: BSc (Sciences) BA in Psychology, Biology, Neuroscience, or an Allied Health care professional is preferred but not required. High School Diploma of equivalent (GED) required. Work fewer workdays, three (3) to four (4) overnight shifts per week. Overnight shifts include weeknights and weekends; eligible candidates must be available to work these shifts. Flexibility to work up to forty (40) hours per week. Effective communication and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently in a clinical setting. Commitment to high-quality patient care. A clear Vulnerable Sector Check will be required within thirty (30) days of hire date. Valid First aid and CPR certification required.
