The successful candidate will perform Registered Practical Nurse duties within the Surgical Inpatient Unit 10 East & West. Responsibilities include providing clinical care and utilizing technology to optimize patient outcomes.
Requires a diploma in Registered Practical Nursing, current CNO registration, and BCLS certification. Minimum one year of acute surgical experience is preferred along with competency in various clinical nursing skills.
Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program. Current Registered Practical Nurse registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Current BCLS certification. Experience with patient health teaching. Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), intramuscular injections, intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation, Blood Transfusion, Wound Care Dressing, Medication Administration, etc. Minimum 1 year acute surgical experience, preferred. Basic computer skills and Meditech experience is an asset. Knowledge of community resources. Excellent attendance and discipline free record required. An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
