AECFV is a leading AAHA accredited veterinary facility. We have been providing emergency and critical care coverage to more than 100 general practices throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley since 1996. Our 8,000 sqft hospital is equipped with many state-of-the-art tools that enable us to provide comprehensive emergency care. We have one of the largest blood banks in Canada and are one of the largest and busiest standalone emergency hospitals in Western Canada. We are staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by an incredible team that's committed to practicing the highest standard of emergency and critical care medicine.

About

You: Have a high school diploma and a solid understanding of mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and proportions. Completion of Veterinary Assistant Degree/Certification preferred. Demonstrate the ability to define problems, collect data, articulate issues, and escalate matters to a supervisor as needed. Exhibit a strong desire to learn and apply new knowledge and skills to your daily work. Bring a positive attitude, considerateness, and approachability to all interactions. Show punctuality, consistency, and reliability in your work, along with a compassionate and empathetic approach. Project a professional image with maturity and have fundamental computer skills, including proficiency in Windows-based programs. Handle physical demands such as walking and standing for up to 10 hours per day, sitting, reaching with arms and hands, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. Are a self-motivator who works efficiently and proactively. Treat others with courtesy, sensitivity, and respect, communicate effectively, listen attentively, and seek clarification when needed.

Anticipated

Schedule: A full-time role is a minimum of 64 hours per pay period with rotations built to increase work-life balance. A full-time role requires that you will work one Saturday or Sunday shift per week, as well as a variety of shift times, including some statutory holidays. Part-time positions are considered based on our staffing needs, usually weekends, evenings, and overnights.

Compensation &

Benefits: Competitive wage rate between $18.50-23.00/hr based on experience. Premiums for evening and overnight shifts.
