Diploma in Community Social Services or related field. Knowledge of Mental Health Act and Guardianship Act. Current Level C Basic Life Saving Certificate. Valid Class 5 vehicle license. Reporting to the team leader or designate, as a member of a multidisciplinary and multi agency outreach team, the ACT Mental Health Support Worker provides outreach community based support services, assists in mental health and addictions treatment, provides life skills training, coaching, advocacy and advice to clients experiencing mental health, behavioral, and developmental problems and to their caregivers/families, in accordance with an established plan of treatment/care. Motivates, assists, and instructs clients with the activities of daily living, reports clients' progress and condition, including reactions to medications.
