The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative experience. This includes collaborating with the healthcare team to address physiological, psychological, and socio-cultural needs to maintain optimal patient health.
Requires a Degree or Diploma in Nursing, eligibility for CANNN registration, and at least two years of acute care experience with one year in an Operating Room. Current CPR certification is mandatory, and a clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check are required.

For full time and permanent positions, recruitment bonuses include: $5,000 on start date, $5,000 at 18 months of service and $10,000 at 30 months of service. Additional premiums include a $9,000 Annual Frontline Allowance and a $375 Monthly Retention Bonus of $4,500 per year. For Job shares, salary, bonuses/allowances are pro-rated in accordance with hours worked. The Registered Nurse (RN) OR/ /RR/Day Surgery/CSR is a member of the surgical team that focuses on identifying and meeting the individual needs of the surgical patients throughout the perioperative experience. The Registered Nurse provides excellent care to the surgical population using critical thinking skills guided by the Perioperative Standards through the Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada (ORNAC) Standards, Guidelines and Position Statements. Working in collaboration with the health care team, the Registered Nurse OR/ RR/Day Surgery/ CSR uses basic and expanded nursing knowledge to address the physiological, psychological, socio-cultural and spiritual responses of the patient of the surgical event, with the objective of maintaining or regaining optimal patient health.
