Provide comprehensive care and support to Elders and residents at the Kahkiyow Keykanow Elders Care Home. Responsibilities include medication administration, patient assessments, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to maintain a secure environment.
Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse registered in Alberta with at least one year of experience and current CPR/First Aid certification. A valid Class 5 driver's license and a clear criminal record/vulnerable sector check are required.
The Mikisew Cree First Nation (Mikisew) has lived on the ancestral lands of the Athabasca Delta and Wood Buffalo National Park in northeastern Alberta since time immemorial. The lives of our members are linked to the land and to a close understanding of traditions, history and a natural way of life. Many of our members live in the hamlet of Fort Chipewyan, and our traditional lands range over a large portion of Athabasca oil sands deposits.
Who You Are Mikisew Cree First Nation is seeking a qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Kahkiyow Keykanow Elders Care Home (KKECH) team on a CASUAL basis. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with health team members to provide comprehensive care and support to Elders, residents, and their families. This role supports residents in achieving optimal health, maximizing independence, and maintaining a secure, comfortable, home‑like environment. The LPN also facilitates effective communication between residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Minimum 1 year of experience in an LPN or similar role. IV therapy experience would be considered an asset. Licensed Practical Nurse registered in the Province of Alberta. Current basic CPR. Recent clinical experience, including medication administration and leadership duties. Other duties, as assigned.
